Vivek Agnihotri and Riteish Deshmukh Mourn the Demise of Artistic Visionary Nitin Desai

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of renowned art director and producer, Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who was found deceased at his studio in Karjat, Maharashtra. The news of his sudden demise has left the film fraternity in shock, and several celebrities have expressed their grief on social media.

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, known for his remarkable works, expressed his profound sorrow on Twitter, saying, “I am heartbroken and sad beyond control to learn about my dearest friend Nitin Desai’s death. A legendary Production designer, a visionary who made ND Studio… Nitin not only loved Pallavi and me, but he also always guided me even in films we didn’t do together. Why Nitin, why? Om Shanti!”

Actor Riteish Deshmukh, renowned for his versatile performances, also took to social media to pay his respects to the late artistic visionary. He wrote, “Deeply shocked to know that #NitinDesai, a legendary Production Designer who has contributed immensely to the growth of Indian cinema, is no more. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. I had known him for years… soft-spoken, humble, ambitious & a visionary… you will be missed my friend. Om Shanti.”

As per reports, Nitin Desai was facing financial challenges as his studio was not faring well. Despite these difficulties, his creative brilliance continued to shine through his work.

Nitin Desai embarked on his career as an assistant director on the sets of the TV show “Tamas.” His exceptional talent was first recognized in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1994 film, “1942: A Love Story.” From there, he went on to design awe-inspiring sets for numerous Bollywood classics, including “Slumdog Millionaire” (2008), “Once Upon a Time in Mumbai,” “Dostana,” “Lage Raho Munna Bhai,” “Munnabhai MBBS,” “Mission Kashmir,” “Josh,” and “Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha,” among many others.

The film industry has lost an irreplaceable artist whose creative contributions have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Nitin Desai’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of filmmakers and artists.
