Teacher’s Day in India is not just a day to express gratitude to our educators; it’s a day to celebrate the profound impact they have on shaping young minds. Bollywood actress Kriti Kharbanda, known for her expressive performances on the silver screen, took a moment on this special day to reminisce about a teacher who changed the course of her life.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kriti shared a glimpse of her school days and the teacher who saw her potential even before she did. The actress fondly recalled her time at Baldwin Girls High School in Bangalore, where Mrs. Sheila Mathews, her class teacher, made a lasting impression.

In her post, Kriti captioned an old-school photograph with these words: “When I was in class 2 at Baldwin girls high school in Bangalore, Mrs. Sheila Mathews, my class teacher, looked at me one day and said, ‘You have such expressive eyes, my dear!'” It was a compliment that would change the course of young Kriti’s life.

Kriti Kharbanda was not just another student; she was a girl with dreams and aspirations, even at a young age. Inspired by Mrs. Mathews’ confidence and charm, Kriti decided to express her desire to dance in the class play. She vividly remembers the moment when she looked into her teacher’s eyes and said, “Miss, I want to dance in the class play.”

What happened next was nothing short of magical. Kriti found herself standing tall on the school stage, facing an audience of empty chairs, with only a handful of seats filled by teachers. It was her very first dance performance, and it was the moment when she felt like she truly belonged.

But this journey wasn’t just about Kriti; Mrs. Sheila Mathews played a pivotal role. Kriti revealed, “She was the first person who saw a fire in me, that maybe even I didn’t see at the time. She called in my mother and said, ‘We want your daughter to headline the play,’ and my most amazing and supportive mother encouraged me not just to be a part of it but also contributed to our rehearsals post-school hours! I got very lucky. This was probably the first step I took towards acting, in my own way. I’m grateful for everything that followed.”

Mrs. Mathews’ belief in Kriti’s talent and her encouragement paved the way for the young actress to pursue her dreams. Kriti didn’t stop at that first performance; she continued to participate in every literary club activity, auditioned for advertisements, and even started her journey in the world of commercials.

As Kriti’s passion for acting grew, she recalled that day when she signed her first film. She couldn’t help but think about Mrs. Mathews, the teacher who had seen the spark in her eyes years ago. This Teacher’s Day, Kriti Kharbanda expressed her gratitude to not just Mrs. Mathews but to all her teachers who played a part in making her the confident and accomplished actress she is today.

In her heartfelt tribute, Kriti said, “This Teacher’s Day, I want to thank every single one of my teachers who helped me become a version of myself that I’m so proud of… P.S. I don’t have a picture from this particular performance, but here’s a little something from another performance at school.”

As we celebrate Teacher’s Day, Kriti Kharbanda’s touching tribute serves as a powerful reminder of the profound impact teachers can have on their students’ lives. It’s a testament to the importance of recognizing and honoring those who ignite the flames of passion and potential within us, setting us on a path towards our dreams.
