Farhan Akhtar Hails ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ as Top-List Movie of His Career

Renowned actor Farhan Akhtar, who brought the inspiring tale of sprinter Milkha Singh to life in the biopic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,’ spoke highly of the film’s impact on his career, expressing that it will forever remain among the top-list movies that have shaped his artistic journey. On the occasion of the film’s 10th-anniversary special screening, Farhan Akhtar, alongside director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and producer Ajit Adhare, fondly reminisced about the cherished memories associated with creating this cinematic gem.

“Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” was a collaborative effort that seamlessly blended the talents of Rakeysh Mehra, Ajit Adhare, the film’s writer, and its music composers to produce an exceptional cinematic experience. Reflecting on the film’s success and impact, Farhan Akhtar expressed, “It is an exceptional movie to start with. The kind of work Rakeysh Mehra and Ajit Adhare did for the movie, along with the writer and music composers, all came together really-really well. I consider myself very lucky to have been a part of this movie, and when I think about my career, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ will always remain at the top.”

The film’s universal appeal has transcended borders, as Farhan Akhtar revealed, “Wherever I go in the world, there is just one film that people talk to me about, or they have watched it, and that is ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.’ For any person in the creative field, you would want to touch people’s hearts, and 100 crore at the box-office is just a number. But touching 100 crore hearts, that is the most indescribable feeling.”

To celebrate its 10th-anniversary milestone, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” was re-released in theaters with sign language, providing an inclusive experience for audience members with hearing and speech impairment.

Looking forward, Farhan Akhtar is set to make his directorial comeback with “Jee Le Zaraa,” a much-awaited project starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. The film’s script, penned by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, promises to deliver another cinematic masterpiece from the talented director.
