4th Edition of Vadilal International Gujarati Film Festival Kicks Off with the Grand Premiere of ‘Locha Lapsi’ Starring Malhar Thakar

Chicago, USA – July 8, 2023 – The highly anticipated 4th edition of the Vadilal International Gujarati Film Festival (IGFF) commenced on July 7th with great enthusiasm, marking its opening day with the grand premiere of the Gujarati film ‘Locha Lapsi,’ featuring popular actor Malhar Thakar. Held at the prestigious Cine Lounge in Chicago, USA, the festival witnessed a massive turnout as the Gujarati community came together to celebrate and support Gujarati cinema.

Prior to the festival, IGFF hosted a pre-event ‘Bhajiya’ party at the 41st floor of The North Fairbanks Condo Hotel in Chicago. Festival jury members and esteemed guests graced the occasion, further enhancing the festival’s celebratory spirit and camaraderie.

The festival will continue for two more days, with various Gujarati films being showcased on July 8th. The closing ceremony on July 9th will feature an award ceremony for the official selection films, followed by a cultural musical performance by the legendary Gujarati singer, Shree Atul Purohit.
