Emotion Is Still The Same for Gadar 2, Confident Anil Sharma Says

Filmmaker Anil Sharma, the mastermind behind the iconic Gadar franchise, is confident that the emotion that captivated audiences in the first film will continue to connect with viewers in the eagerly anticipated Gadar 2. Joined by the ensemble cast, including the legendary Sunny Deol, the talented Ameesha Patel, Simrat Kaur, and Utkarsh Sharma, Anil Sharma shared his thoughts during the grand trailer launch event in Mumbai.

When questioned about the significant time gap between the two films, Anil Sharma responded with utmost assurance, “Time might change, but the heart remains the same, emotion remains the same. The outfit might change over time, the way we shoot the film, the technology might change. However, the essence of Gadar -1, which revolved around the story of Tara, Sakeen, and Jeete, had to be carried forward, depicting the journey of this extraordinary family.”

The visionary director revealed that it took him 22 years to discover the perfect story that would continue the heartwarming tale of Gadar. Despite the time gap, Anil Sharma remains confident that the emotional depth of the narrative will seamlessly connect with the audience. He compared this phenomenon to timeless classics such as “Mughal-E-Azam,” which continues to be revered by audiences as a masterpiece even after years.

The first part of the franchise followed Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) as he embarks on a courageous journey to Lahore to reclaim his wife Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) from her father’s clutches. In Gadar 2, Tara is once again in Lahore, this time to reunite with his son Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma).

Scheduled for release on 11th August 2023, Gadar 2 is set to create a box-office face-off with Akshay Kumar starrer “OMG-2.” The film promises to continue the captivating legacy of Gadar, captivating audiences with its riveting narrative and compelling performances.
