Varun Dhawan Sustains Leg Injury While Shooting for Atlee’s VD18; Actor Shares Health Update

Actor Varun Dhawan, who is currently working on Atlee’s upcoming film, tentatively titled VD18, has reportedly suffered a leg injury on the movie’s set. Varun took to Instagram to share an update on his condition and mentioned that he is in the process of recovering.

In a video shared on his Instagram stories, Varun can be seen addressing his injury while attempting to alleviate the pain. He said, “I hurt my leg, I think, while shooting, and I have no idea how I hurt my leg, but this is what I am doing at the moment.” The video shows Varun immersing his foot in ice water, likely to find relief from the discomfort.

Varun Dhawan commenced shooting for VD18, backed by director Atlee, a few months ago and recently revealed that the film is set to hit theaters on May 31 next year. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees, known for his debut film “Kee” in 2019, VD18 has generated considerable excitement among fans for its fresh and unique storyline.

A source close to the film shared insights with Pinkvilla, saying, “Varun will be shooting for the film’s promo in Mumbai, and will be combining the schedule with a few important sequence shoots as well. The preparation is going on in full swing, while the makers are also simultaneously working on the plan to officially announce the movie with the promo that they are going to shoot tomorrow. It will be an entertaining promo packed with action and drama, and will feature VD (Varun Dhawan) in a never-seen-before avatar.”

On the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s “Bawaal,” alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Meanwhile, Atlee, who is producing Varun’s next project, is celebrating the success of the recently released Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Jawan.” The film hit theaters on Thursday, receiving positive reviews and performing well at the box office.
