Actress Anusha Mishra’s Bollywood debut in “Dream Girl 2” has been a dream come true. Playing the role of Sakina, the daughter of Paresh Rawal’s character, in the second installment of the “Dream Girl” franchise, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, has been a fulfilling experience for Anusha.

Recalling the journey that led her to the film, Anusha says, “Last April, I received a call for this character from Casting Bay. After several rounds of auditions, I was on board and traveled to Mathura for the shoot. The most challenging aspect was acting in front of the legendary Paresh Rawal, Seema Ma’am, Asrani Sir, Rajpal Sir, and others. I literally grew up watching their films, and to share screen space with them is beyond a dream.”

Anusha’s first shot for the film was with the entire star cast, including Rajpal Yadav, Ayushmann, Ananya, Abhishek Banerjee, and Seema Ma’am. However, facing an actor of Paresh Rawal’s caliber initially made her nervous. Anusha was determined to prove herself and make the most of this significant opportunity. She recalls, “I did not want to be seen as someone who knows nothing. Later on, Seema Ma’am made me very comfortable. Our conversations during travel from the hotel to the shoot locations helped me a lot.”

Anusha made her television debut with “Tera Kya Hoga Alia,” and transitioning to Bollywood with “Dream Girl 2” was an eye-opening experience. She shares, “Working with a prestigious banner like Balaji, being part of grand sets, and collaborating with a tremendously talented ensemble cast allowed me to experience the essence of a film. I learned the intricacies of working on a Hindi movie set. Our director, Raaj Sir, is extremely humorous and quick-witted, which kept the atmosphere on set relaxed and vibrant.”

Expressing her excitement about the film’s success, Anusha remarks, “I’m sure everyone was a bit tense—’Gadar 2′ is doing exceptionally well, and ‘Jawan’ is coming soon. But we are extremely thankful that people have not only watched our film but are showing their love at the box office too. Their responses and the box office numbers are fantastic!”

Anusha attributes her success and confidence to her mother, Pratichi Mishra, a seasoned TV actress. She mentions, “My mother has been my greatest inspiration. She has always been encouraging and given me confidence. She loved ‘Dream Girl 2,’ laughed throughout the film, and I’m grateful that she appreciated my acting too.”

In conclusion, Anusha Mishra’s journey from television to Bollywood has been marked by her determination and the valuable experience of working with industry stalwarts in “Dream Girl 2.”
