ZEE5 launches its star-studded April calendar via video conference

Taking into account the current scenario, ZEE5, the largest OTT player in the country, unveiled their April content line-up with a unique campaign titled #BeCalmBeEntertained via a digital press conference. The program was hosted by none other than veteran film critic Komal Nahta.

The online press conference was helmed by Aparna Acharekar, Programming Head, ZEE5 India along with a talented ensemble of actors namely Rahul Dev, Aditya Rawal, Jatin Sarna, Harsh Beniwal and director Ranjan Chandel. Together, they unveiled a power-packed calendar for April 2020 with brand new launches across genres and languages for subscribers. The launch was concluded with a brief Q&A round with the media who attended the webinar.

“We’re glad and thankful for the media and actors who joined us for the first digital calendar launch of ZEE5. This month, we want our viewers to stay home, be safe and be entertained with the best of our content. We have lined up interesting movies, Originals, free content for the audience. All of us are hopeful that normalcy will return soon, and as always, the ZEE5 team will continue their effort to bring new content to the viewers” expressed Aparna Acharekar, Programming Head, ZEE5 India.

‘Bamfaad’, a ZEE5 Original film, premieres on 10th April. Presented by Anurag Kashyap, directed by Ranjan Chandel, the audience will get a chance to see the power-packed duo of Aditya Rawal and Shalini Pandey with their jaw-dropping performances.

To entertain our viewers with fresh offerings, ZEE5 will premiere a Short Film Festival on 15th April with 9 short films across genres, featuring actors like Vikrany Massey, Nasseruddin Shah, Rhea Chakraborty, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajeev Khandelwal, Sumeet Raghvan & Hruta Durgule and directed by popular film-makers like Sonam Nair, Ram Kamal Mukherjee and Karan Rawal will be seen on your screens

Films like Heartbeat, Second Hand, Svah! So be it, Boom Boom, Food For Thought, Half Full, Seasons Greetings, How about a Kiss? and Strawberry Shake will be part of the Short Film Festival.

In addition to this, ZEE5 will also be releasing the below fiction, non-fiction shows and digital movie premieres across languages:

  • Hindi: Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, Baarish, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain [Fresh episodes Mon-Fri], HACKED (3rd April)(7th March), Starry nights Gen Y (15th March), ZEE Cine Awards (28th March), Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti (30th March)
  • Korean: Witch at Court, Bread Love & Dreams, Queen of Mystery (Daily New Episodes at 6:30 PM)
  • Turkish: Relationship Status: It’s Complicated (Daily Two Episodes at 7:00 PM)
  • Tamil: Marainthirunthu Paarkum Marmam Enna (3rd April), Naan Sirthal (7th April). Sowkarpettai (10th April) Basu Paribar (10th April), Oh my Kadavule (24th April)
  • Bengali: Basu Paribar (10th April),

In addition to the Short Film Festival, ZEE5 x ALTBalaji premiered ‘Who’s Your Daddy?’ featuring Harsh Beniwal along with Rahul Dev, Nikhil Bhambhri and Anveshi Jain, Divinaa Thakur and Kasturi Banerjee. For the ones seeking a thrill, the platform presented another landmark movie – ‘Hacked’ by Vikram Bhatt starring Hina Khan and Rohan Shah.
