Actress Sadia Khateeb, who made her Hindi film debut with ‘Shikara’, has said that she wants to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in her future projects as both of them are her favorite actors from the film industry. She also added saying that she didn’t expect appreciation from critics and the audience for her performance in her debut romantic-social drama film.
Sadia Khateeb was interacting with News Helpline in Mumbai.
When asked which actors and filmmakers she would like to collaborate in future, she said, “There are so many actors in this industry I would like to work with and first of them would be Shah Rukh Khan. I love him. I wish I could work with him but I also feel that it’s too soon to say that. Apart from him, I would like to work with Ranbir Kapoor. As far as women filmmakers are concerned, I would like to work with Zoya Akhtar, Gauri Shinde, Farah Khan and Meghna Gulzar.”
Sadia Khateeb featured in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s romantic-social drama film ‘Shikara’ opposite Aadil Khan. The film was released in 2020 and it is based on the backdrop of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Jammu and Kashmir.
‘Shikara’ didn’t do well at the box office but Sadia’s performance was praised by critics and the audience, talking about the audience response to her performance in the film, Sadia said “It feels great. I didn’t expect this because it was my first film and I didn’t know how I was doing. I thoroughly believed in my director’s and writer’s vision. So throughout two years, they kept telling me that I was doing well and I believed in it. I knew that I have more to offer as an actor. After watching the film, a lot of people told me that it doesn’t look like my first film, so I think it’s the best thing a debutante can hear for her performance.”
Talking about her upcoming projects, Sadia said, “There are two things which I am doing this year in terms of films but I am not allowed to speak about it yet. I have been getting offers for films and I have been auditioning for them as well. Some of them are working and some of them are not working. I didn’t expect offers to come because commercially, it (Shikara) didn’t do well, so I feel grateful about that. It’s been a balanced cycle as ten things I am rejecting and ten people are rejecting me but still I am hoping that something great comes to my way.”
