After playing Doctor Strange and Sherlock Holmes, actor Benedict Cumberbatch is donning the cowboy outfit for western classic, The Power Of The Dog, the first official trailer for the same is out.
A Netflix special, Jane Campion's directorial is a gritty western romance set in Montana, also starring Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll, and Adam Beach.
The film is set in 1925 about wealthy ranchers in Montana named the Burbank brothers. The eldest brother Phil is a devious and cruel man, who stumbles upon Rose, the widowed proprietress, and her impressionable son Peter. Phil appears to take the boy under his wing but he has plans of menace.  



The Power of the Dog is both written and directed by acclaimed Kiwi filmmaker Jane Campion. The film is adapted from the novel by Thomas Savage. Netflix will then release The Power of the Dog in select US theatres on November 17th, 2021, streaming on Netflix on December 1st this fall.
