The Girl on the Train Review: Suspense Thriller with No goosebumps, no excitement, no long suspense sequels

No goosebumps, no excitement, no long suspense sequels. It’s completly a back from direction and making side.

After Jabraiya Jodi in 2019, finally I saw Parineeti Chopra back to the screen. In terms of her looks and acting, Parineeti changed a lot, from that bubbly face to some serious face, and also on acting there is a big jump from Parineeti.

Now, Talking about the suspense thriller ‘The Girl on the Train‘ its got slow in between and also lost interest at the beginning. Generally, a suspense thriller is fast in pace but here it’s completely inverted. I am disappointed with director Ribhu Dasgupta because in the first half he was trying to build the character and set the plot with so much suspense. But, he was completely failed in instead of suspense it more seems like a confusion and, because of it we lost the interest specially for first 20-25 minutes.

Parineeti Chopra, The Girl on the Train

I can understand in suspense movies things are not getting connected at the beginning and gets clear in the climax. In this movie every suspense angle that created stays for 5 to 10 minutes and then it’s disclosed with the beginning of another suspense. No goosebumps, no excitement, no long suspense sequels. It’s completely aback from direction and making side.

Aditi Rao Hydari, The Girl on the Train

In terms of acting, I already mentioned, Parineeti Chopra seen in a completely new look from the acting point, Aditi Rao Hydari also good and her look reminds me of her look from ‘LUV LETTER VIDEO SONG‘. Kriti Kulhari’s character not portrayed well in the movie, It’s seems like the director wants to show Kriti’s character as a strict police officer, but while trying to this he just focused on her getup where he completely failed. Instead of strict, she looks very odd. Also, I think the casting director needs to think about Nimrat Kaur, we saw her in Airlift and The Test Case she did brilliant. But here Kriti missed it and I think it’s only because of the look she was given for this role.
