Now when I look back on the journey, it feels like it has given me so much in return. It gave me a new perspective on life, gave me courage and taught me the importance of life and health.”

Manisha Koirala has written about her experience through the treatment and after in the book titled ‘Healed’ published by Penguin.

Talking about revisiting memories when writing the book, Manisha said, ” Indeed it was very emotional, to be able to remember everything in detail was very painful. There were times when I had stopped writing the book, I thought I’ll never be able to finish it. But then I picked it up because I wanted to tell the story. I wanted people to know and I wanted to encourage myself as well as other cancer patients who have been diagnosed. That hope kept me going.”

Manisha was last seen in the biopic ‘Sanju’, alongside, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal  and  Ranbir Kapoor. She portrayed the role of Sanjay Dutt’s mother Nargis who he lost to cancer.
