Mimi Trailer Is Out, And It Is Indeed Nothing Like What You’re Expecting
Being a surrogate for someone is a blessing, but what if the couple didn’t want the child when you’re fully pregnant, sounds like an ordeal, and that’s the story of Mimi starring Kriti Sanon in the lead role.
The first official trailer of Mimi is out, and as promised, it is “nothing like what you’re expecting! Mimi revolves around a small-town girl from Rajasthan, played by Kriti Sanon, who gets offered Rs 20 lakh to act as a surrogate for an American couple. The middleman is Tripathi, who, in his impeccable style, manages to convince both parties. Things, however, take a turn when the couple retracts from the deal and refuses to accept the child. Mimi’s family thinks a pregnant unwedded daughter means it’s an illegitimate child. And all this comes with a pinch of religious rivalry!
The trailer is a funny take on the grim situation; it shows things in comic space. The makers have treated the theme with a lot of innocence and simplicity, laced with dollops of humor.
Mimi is helmed by Laxman Utekar and producer Dinesh Vijan, also starring Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, and Sai Tamhankar. The family entertainer, which revolves around the plot of surrogacy is set to release on Netflix on July 30.
