“There is no doubt that there is a huge demand for consumers as the audience waits to return to the cinema to watch movies on the big screen. We saw the same thing in the time frame that the movies were opened between October 2020 and February 2021 during Unlock's start which led to a sharp start, "said Ashish Saksena, chief operating officer, cinemas at the BookMyShow.
The company’s speculation suggests that this quarter of the festival is likely to be better than the recovery seen during the opening in 2020 and will be equivalent to the 2018 and 2019 movies expected on the sidelines confirming release dates soon.
Festive seasons are always expected, especially during Diwali following Christmas, said Rahul Puri, executive director, Mukta Arts and Mukta A2 Cinemas.
