'Dharam Ji's farm house in Lonavala makes you realize you are visiting some other world', says Hema Malini
Cyclone Tauktae brought with it strong winds and heavy rains which resulted in trees falling all over the city of Mumbai. As a result, a new campaign has been initiated by BMC which is known as 'Be a tree parent mega foundation vriksha campaign' . As per this campaign, new plants will be planted all over the city and this was inaugurated by actress Hema Malini along with daughter Esha Deol.
Talking to News Helpline about this initiative, Hema Malini said, " Due to recent natural calamities, we have lost many trees in Juhu, it made me feel very sad because we used to take care of those trees around here like our babies. So we have started this drive to plant new saplings.”
Stating the importance of trees in our lives, she added,"People should plant more and more trees and each one should adopt 20-25 trees. One should realize that mere planting of trees and clicking photos with them is pointless. We have to take care of these plants like our own children. We have to treat them like our family members.”
She further added,"Our government wants trees to be planted across India and we are planting in Juhu. I’ve done a lot of tree planting in Mathura, and one must plant a tree accordingly, because later BMC, in the name of development, starts pulling them out, then it would be useless. So take proper permission, find the right place and then plant a tree, and treat that plant as your family member.”
Hema Malini was also all praise for her husband Dharmendra for creating a beautiful farmhouse in Lonavala. She said "He spends time in his farmhouse where he has planted many beautiful trees. Dharam Ji's farmhouse in Lonavala makes you realize you are visiting some other world."
