Arshad Warsi presents his viewpoint on current tax paying situation in the country
After a long pandemic lockdown, the world is contemplating a restart in various spheres of life. Our economy too has witnessed a big collapse owing to this deadly virus. Many hidden mistakes of the economy are coming on the forefront and actor Arshad Warsi has presented his viewpoint on the current tax-paying situation in the country.
Sharing a graph that compares the percentage of the population that pays income tax of various countries in the world, he wrote, "Only 1.12% taxpayers in India. In other words, approximately 1,55,00,000 taxpayers are looking after approximately 137,45,00,000 non taxpayers. I am not an economist but I think we will become a rich country the day this scenario changes.”
In the graph, we can see countries like America, Australia, Japan, Russia and UK, all have more than 30 percent of their population paying taxes. Well, Arshad does have a point in whatever he is saying!
On the work front, he was last seen in 'Asur' a crime thriller series that was released on Voot last year. He made his web debut with this. With the amount of love this show received, the makers have decided to come back with season 2 of the show.
He will also be seen in 'Bachchan Pandey' which is an action film directed by Farhad Samji. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandes in lead roles. It also stars him, Prateik Babbar, and Pankaj Tripathi in supporting roles. The film is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and is written by Nischay Kuttanda and Farhad. The film will hit the theatres on January 26, 2022.
