Shivaay himself is an inquisitive fella: an adrenaline junkie daredevil who jumps off bluffs and mountains, routinely alludes to himself in the third individual and seems to talk just in punchlines. Notwithstanding the shallow composition, Devgan imbues the character with certifiable mankind and makes his torment at being isolated from his kid completely obvious. He’s similarly persuading in “superhero” mode, flying into a frantic fury when invited, landing punches and kicks at the speed of lightning, notwithstanding driving without foot on the pedal and surviving both shots and stabbings.
What Ajay Devgan the star merited, was a more keen executive and a superior script. At last, there’s little else to Shivaay than the eye-watering areas (both in the Himalayas and in Bulgaria), and incidentally strong minutes amongst Devgan and the young lady who plays his girl. Everything else is clamor. An excessive amount of clamor.
