I Dedicate My Award To Film Industry And Javed Akhtar Says Salim Khan

Bollywood veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is honoured for his lifetime contribution to Indian cinema at the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Wednesday.

The screenwriter Salim Khan couldn’t attend the ceremony but expressed his “gratitude” on his social media profile. He also dedicated his award to his birthplace, Film Industry and his old writing partner Javed Akhtar.
Salim Khan tweeted, “Thank you IFFI and Information & Broadcasting ministry, Government of India for honouring me with the Indian Personality for Lifetime contribution to Indian Cinema.#IFFI2018”

“I dedicate this award to Indore, my birthplace and to Mumbai and the Film Industry which has given me everything. I would also like to thank Mr Javed Akhtar without whose contribution this would not have been possible.#IFFI2018”
Producer-actor Arbaaz Khan, son of Salim Khan, accepted the IFFI Special Award on behalf of his father.

Salim Khan is noted for his extensive screenwriting work, which includes some of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. Movies like Zanjeer, Sholay and Deewar among others.
Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar use to write as partners and went by “Salim-Javed” Jodi, but later they decided to part their ways.
