A Hennessy original, Hennessy V.S.O.P — “Very Superior Old Pale” — cognac came to life as a special commission by the Prince Regent, the future King George IV, in 1817 and went on to conquer the world. Today, its timeless and forward-looking character are the subject of a disruptive campaign by the Oscar-winning Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, who dives headfirst into a multi-faceted world of revelry, luxury, and unexpected encounters. LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s leading producer of premium film formats and cinema technologies, and Cinemark, one of the world’s largest and most influential movie theatre companies, announced today they have signed an agreement to bring the expanded immersive ScreenX technology to select Cinemark locations in the U.S. Together, they will convert auditoriums in six Cinemark theatres in Texas and California by the end of the year, with plans for a potential expansion.

ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection cinema with an immersive 270-degree field of view. ScreenX expands specially selected sequences of a film onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium, surrounding audiences with extended imagery that naturally fills their peripheral vision and immerses them into the narrative of the film. ScreenX works closely with filmmakers and studios to ensure the highest quality presentation of the film in select key scenes with exclusive story-enhancing imagery produced by CJ 4DPLEX’s VFX studio in Korea.

The deal comes at an exciting time for the immersive format, as it is rapidly growing its footprint in the U.S. and abroad. PM meets major film studios to discuss development of Mongolian film industry

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia, Sept. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Mongolia’s Prime Minister, L. Oyun-Erdene, has met today with major Hollywood studios and film companies to discuss how they can work together to further develop and promote the Mongolian film industry internationally.

Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene met with representatives from HBO, Netflix, Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers to discuss the development of the Mongolian film industry.

 

Attendees at the meeting included senior representatives from HBO, Netflix, Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers, who are all in Ulaanbaatar at the invitation of Mongolia’s Culture Minister, Nomin Chinbat.

Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister outlined the Government’s efforts to develop Mongolia’s creative industries as part of strengthening and diversifying the country’s economy. Developing the creative industries is a key part of Mongolia’s New Recovery Policy and provides opportunities to create a new, independent source of growth away from mining.

The Prime Minister stressed the Government’s commitment to create a favourable filming environment in Mongolia to take its film industry to the next level. Mongolia’s Law on the Support of Cinematography was approved in 2021 and started to be implemented in early 2022.

The law introduced competitive incentives, including a reimbursement program for film production costs, to help major global productions and studios create jobs and build capacity, attracting more investment into Mongolia, increasing tourism and creating greater awareness of the country’s unique heritage.

The visit by the leading film executives coincides with “FAM TOUR-2022”, an initiative jointly organised by Mongolia’s Ministry of Culture and the Mongolian National Film Council to promote the incentives available for filming in Mongolia, as well as the activities of the Council and Mongolia’s beautiful natural environment. It is running from 14-19 September.

During the rest of their visit to Mongolia, which lasts until 19 September, the film executives will meet with Mongolian filmmakers, directors, producers and artists, including Nomadia Pictures and the world-class recording studio B Production. They will also visit the Mongol Nomadic Tourist Camp and see an equestrian stunt show at Terelj National Park.

Unrivalled Slate of Italian Content

As part of the streamer’s plan to greenlight 150 international originals by 2025, Paramount+ is bringing Hollywood to Italy, as Italian audiences will find a Mountain of Entertainment including locally created content:

FRANCESCO IL CANTICO, hosted by Oscar®-winning Italian star Roberto Benigni; and a new season of VITA DA CARLO, the first production with Carlo Verdone for Paramount+, playing a double role of director and main lead on the series following his own life, showing the frugal private life of a man who never denies himself to his audience, between selfies on the streets and autographs at rest stops.

The films will feature Riccardo Zanotti and Elio Biffi, members of the musical group Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, voicing several characters: Riccardo will play a weather reporter in the first episode and actress Gwyneth Paltrow in the second, while Elio, who voices a guide in the first installment, will lend his voice to comedian Larry David in the second film.

Additionally, Paramount+ is the destination for “Star Trek” fans in Italy. The service features STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, which follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new life forms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself; and STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, which is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series will feature fan-favorites from season two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

Exclusive highlights from SHOWTIME® include AMERICAN GIGOLO, a present-day reimagining of the iconic 1980 film; SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER, telling the story of one of Silicon Valley’s most successful and destructive unicorns, Uber; and THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, based on the novel and iconic film of the same name, following an alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution.

The revival of the ICARLY series is available with actress Miranda Cosgrove reprising her role as Carly Shay as she and her friends navigate work, love and family in their 20s; as well as BIG NATE, a new animated series about a sixth-grade kid who has a never-ending need to prove his awesomeness to the world; the reboot of the RUGRATS and THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: ANCORA PIÙ FANTA, a new mixed media series of live action and animation, based on the historic Nickelodeon animated series.

Paramount+ offers the CG-animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY, developed by Emmy® Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (“Trollhunters” and “Ninjago”), this is the first “Star Trek” series aimed at younger audiences and follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy in search of a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the “Star Trek” franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
