Action director Sham Kaushal has said that he feels proud and humbled that his sons Vicky Kaushal and Sunny Kaushal are doing well in the film industry.
Sham Kaushal was interacting with the media at the special screening of ‘Guns of Banaras’ along with his son Sunny Kaushal on Thursday in Mumbai.
When asked Kaushal how he feels when his sons are doing well in the film industry, he said, “I can’t explain it in words. I feel so proud and humbled. I feel blessed and I keep thanking God because now, I am known by their names. I think it’s a big thing for a father to be known by their sons’ names. I will be competing 30 years as an action director in this industry. For 28 years, I was known as action director but since last two years, people call me as Vicky and Sunny’s papa (father). If anyone doesn’t introduce me like that then I introduce myself like that (laughs).”
Sham Kaushal has choreographed action sequences for ‘Gun of Banaras’ , talking about it, Kaushal said, “Whenever I do any work, if my director and producer are happy with me so, I feel I have done a good job. If film’s actors’ director and producer are happy with my work then, I feel very happy about it. In this film, I think actors Karann (Nathh) and Ganesh (Venkatram) have worked really hard for the film and they done a wonderful job.”
Talking about ‘Guns of Banaras’, Sunny said, “I have seen the trailer of the film and I am feeling very excited about it. It is looking really good so, let’s see how the film turns out.
Sunny also praised his father, he said, “They (action scenes) are looking really good. I am huge fan of his (Sham Kaushal) of work so, I am quite excited to see that onscreen.”
When asked Sunny whether he would like to work with his father and brother in a same film, he said, “Definitely… I have actually worked with him (Sham Kaushal) in recently released Amazon Prime Videos series ‘The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye’ and my father choreographed action sequences for it. So, I was fortunate enough to work with him and learn under him. Whenever I will get an opportunity, I would like to work with my father.”
Talking about his upcoming projects, Sunny said, “Right now, I am shooting for two movies. One is called ‘Shiddat’ which is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and another one is ‘Hurdang’.”
Directed by Sekhar Suri ‘Guns of Banaras’ is scheduled to release on 28 February 2020.
