‘KaalaKaandi’s’ release postponed due to CBFC sensor cuts

Akshat Verma writer of Delhi Belly is gearing up for his directorial debut Kaalakaandi’ had to postpone its release due to CBFC (Censor Board of FIim Certification) sensor cuts.

‘Kaalakaandi’ by Akshat Verma had recently come out with a teaser that had created a strong buzz online. The film had announced a release date of September 8th. However, it has been decided to postpone the release to be able to have sufficient time to complete the censor process as CBFC has suggested cuts. A new date shall be announced shortly.

Kaalakaandi is the story of six characters from different worlds, urban, ambitious Mumbai and it’s dark, neglected underbelly, a raucous tale about life, death, karma, that barrels through one monsoon night. KaalaKaandi is produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn.

The film stars Saif Ali Khan along with the eclectic ensemble of Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raz, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in a special appearance.

The film was initially scheduled to release on 8th Septemeber 2017.
