On Wednesday, makers of Shab hosted special screening of the film in Mumbai. Bollywood celebritries like Divya Dutta, Anant Mahadevan, Sanjay Suri, Onir, Apita Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashish Bisht attended the screening.

Here’s what they had to in the screening:

Divya Dutta : Sanjay, Onir and Raveena are my friends so when your friends make film its nice to support them. Onir has made some beautiful and sensitive films so I am sure that Shab will be one of those films. So I have high expectation form the film

Divya is playing key character in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz which trailer released on Tuesday, talking about her film, she said, “I am excited and nervous about the film. I really like my character in the film. Film’s trailer is getting good response from the audience. I wish all the luck to my team members who worked so hard during the making of the film.”

On Tuesday, during the trailer launch of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz , Divya Dutta being a senior actor was not invited on stage during the press conference that followed the trailer launch. Reportedly, because she felt left out she quickly walked out of the venue, crying.

When asked her about that incident, Divya replied, “I have been part of this unnecessary controversy and I don’t want to throw any light on it”.

Ashish Bisht : I am very excited and nervous for my debut film but feeling happy at the same time as it was my dream since childhood to work in bollywood. I am eager to know reaction of the audience. It is really good thing for us to get support from industry people.

National award winning director Onir is known for making intense films on human relationships so when asked Ashish about making debut in Onir film, Ashish said, “I think, it is best platform for me to start my career from after this, I will come stronger in my next films.  I learnt a lot as human being. I am lucky that in my first film, I got the opportunity to work with national award winning director”.

Sanjay Suri talking about the poster and trailer of the film said, “Poster is static medium and through this, you can express story of your film to some extent. We always has challenge to cut of trailer of 2 minutes which gives sneak peak of story of the film but the film has duration of 2 hours so it trailer can’t give justice to story of the film. It just have motive to give idea about the basic storyline of the film. In Shab, there are so many layers and dimension to the story so I feel trailer can’t give much idea about the film”

Talking about working with Raveena in the film, he said, “15 years ago when we thought of this story, from that time, Raveena has been part of this film but in the mean time we made some other movies so when Onir thought to make Shab, We all immediately agreed to be part of this film. Raveena was always in Onir’s mind when he was writing story of this film. And earlier, I was going to do role of Ashish Bisht but during those 15 years, I got bit older so we decide to take younger boy in the form of Ashish.

This film is the story of a coffee shop girl Raina (Arpita Chatterjee) and the man who loves her Afzar(Ashish Bisht) an aspiring model. Sonal (Raveena Tandon) is a fashion patron who becomes his mentor. The film centers around their intense human relationship in terms love, hurt and power. Into their lives comes in Benoit (Simon Frenay) a French expat who teaches French in Delhi.

It is releasing on 14 July, 2017.
