Box Office The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard Takes Top Spot

Lionsgate, the sequel to the 2017 action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, hit the big screen on Wednesday and has grossed $17 million to date. However, the film cost nearly $70 million and even more to market, so it had to belong and profitable in theaters to make a profit. That can be tricky because Universal’s “F9,” an action-packed adventure aimed at such audiences, is hitting theaters this weekend. Hitman’s Wife’s Wife’s Bodyguard, starring Salma Hayek, Ryan Reynolds, and Samuel L. Jackson, is one of the few films since the start of COVID-19 to only hit theaters. The opening weekend audience was mostly older men, with 55% of ticket buyers identified as male and 66% over the age of 25. As the only new national release, the poorly reviewed “Hitman’s Wife Guard” has little competition for claiming No. 1 in North America. Not far behind, Paramount’s “A Quiet Place Part II” dropped from 3,401 places to second with $9.4 million, just 22 percent off the previous weekend. After four weeks in theaters, the film – directed by John Krasinski and starring Emily Blunt – has grossed $125 million to date. Overseas, A Quiet Place 2 added another $15.7 million to $96.7 million in international exports this weekend, for a total of $221.9 million.

Elsewhere at the box office In the Heights, director John M. Chu’s adaptation of the Broadway hit Lynn-Manuel Miranda failed to sustain audiences in its second weekend of release. The film dropped to sixth place with $4.3 million in 3,509 theaters, a brutal 62% drop since its initial release. “In the Heights,” currently playing on HBO Max, has grossed $19.8 million to date on the big screen. It didn’t go any better with an international audience. The film was released in 31 overseas markets, and overseas ticket sales barely exceeded $2.1 million. At this rate, the $55 million film will struggle to come out of the red, despite the brilliant reviews. Third, Sony’s family film “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” grossed $6.1 million on 3,346 screens in its second-tier setting, raising it to $20.3 million on Sunday. The film did much better business overseas, with $70.5 million in ticket sales.

Warner Bros. horror film. “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” and Disney’s “101 Dalmatians” prequel “Cruella” finished fourth and fifth after the final numbers were counted on Monday. Both films grossed $5.1 million over the weekend, according to Sunday’s predictions. The first, available on HBO Max, grossed $53.5 million at the US box office. Emma Stone’s Cruella, available on Disney Plus for a $30 premium, earned $64.7 million in the US and $95.2 million overseas. As a key box office moment, Godzilla v. Kong marks the second edition of the COVID era, which has already crossed the $100 million mark at the local box office. The monster took three months to overcome this crucial moment. Overseas, the film grossed $342 million with worldwide exports of $442 million.

Independent films without blockbuster-level ads, on the other hand, don’t attract huge audiences. Edgar Wright’s musical documentary “The Sparks Brothers” premiered under a limited edition by Focus Features in 534 seats and earned US$265,000 – the equivalent of US$489 outright. Similarly, the well-reviewed doc “Rita Moreno: Only Girls Decided to Do It” pulled in $75,715 from 227 screens for an average of $334.

As the box office struggles to recover from a difficult 18-month period, the June 25 sequel to Universal F9’s “Fast and Furious” is expected to offer much-needed acclaim into the hands of theater operators. The high-octane tent is already approaching $300 million internationally, and ticket sales are currently at $292 million.

Movie Review: Sooryavanshi Public Review

Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, registered a good performance on the second day with a total of almost R24.50 crore. However, the film failed to gain momentum due to the Bhai Dooj festival and made the bank smaller than it did on Friday. Rohit Shetty’s film was unveiled in theatres at a cost of R26.29 million. It was in conflict with the Hollywood film, Eternals at the box office.

A report by Boxofficeindia.com said: “Sooryavanshi is doing very well on the second day as it looks to record collections at 24.50 crore net collection. This collection is out of the big holiday and the decline will be only 5-10%.” The film, which opened in theatres on Friday after several delays due to the coronavirus epidemic, echoed the outcry of crowds lined up outside theatres in various parts of the country. Reliance Entertainment, which sponsors the film, said the film made a strong business in boxing although the numbers were declining in various parts of the country.

“The response has been positive but due to state restrictions the business has been affected (slightly) in the areas of Maharashtra, MP, Bihar and Haryana due to a 50 per cent occupation otherwise the price would have been R34 crore in the domestic market,” Reliance Entertainment Group said. Chief executive Shibasish Sarkar told PTI about the opening of the film.

The response of the film box shows that the audience is back at the cinema and it is time to celebrate, Sarkar said. “We hope the film will gain more than R75-85 crore in the domestic market in three days’ time,” he added.

No Time To Die Box Office - Soon To Cross $500 Million Mark
Daniel Craig’s Daniel Craig has been doing wonders in the box. In India itself, the film gained 20 crores in just 11 days. Playing Craig, the story focuses on something trivial 007 to his last work that once saved a scientist turns out to be more deceptive than expected.

While still recovering from the long hiatus of COVID-19, James Bond’s new movie has been hitting several milestones as each day passes. As it is Craig’s last film like James Bond, fans have been talking about who should take the next role. However, the producers have recently said that they will be looking for role models next year. The recent development of the box office number No Time to Die is a project that the film has become the second Hollywood movie of 2021 to surpass the $ 500 million mark. By the deadline, the 25th James Bond movie exceeded $ 368 million on Wednesday and $ 474 million worldwide.

The film is now expected to exceed $ 500 million over the weekend. It will be the second home movie to do so year-round, following F9 starring Vin Diesel, John Cena, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster and others. No Time to Die has just passed Warner Bros. Godzilla vs. Kong, who earned $ 467.8 million and will be ranked 5th in the world box this year.

The F9 is currently $ 716.5 million worldwide, sitting in third place. Besides that, a few Chinese movies, Theat on Lake Changin and Hi Mom, were sitting in second place with 1. However, crossing that milestone will not surprise 007 fans.

Daniel Craig’s Skyfall has become his highest-paid Bond film as it has reached a peak of $ 1.1 billion according to Box Office Mojo. While Specter touches $ 880 million worldwide.

By the time the film is released in India, it is yet to reach theatres in Maharashtra. James Bond fans can enjoy Death Time on 22 October.
