Neena Gupta, who is gearing up for the release of ‘Badhaai Ho’ said the film is an ‘ageful’ romance and there shouldn’t be any kind of objection to it.
Senior actress Neena interacted with media at the promotional event of ‘Badhaai Ho’ on Wednesday.
Gupta will be seen in the lead role as a mother of two, who becomes pregnant with the third child at an older age. When asked how she felt being part of an ageless love story, she said, “You shouldn’t call it an ageless love story. It’s an ‘ageful’ romance and there shouldn’t be any kind of objection to it. I think it’s a personal choice of a husband and wife if they want to extend their family. It also depends upon various factors which we have talked in this film is that whether you can afford to have a child, whether your health permits to look after your child etc. so, it is between the couple what they want to do in their life.”
Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao, producer Priti Sahani and director Amit Ravindernath Sharma were also present for the promotional baby shower.
Khurrana who plays Neena’s oldest son in the film also shared his thoughts on the taboo topic in India.
He confessed he too would feel embarrassed in the given situation. “If this would have happened with me in my real life then, I also would have felt embarrassed but eventually it’s a decision of mother and father. We have all for elderly love and our parents should have their own choices to lead their life but it gets bit too much when you parents are expecting a baby when you are all grown up but I think eventually it’s their decision.”
‘Badhaai Ho’ directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma stars Neena Gupta, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Mahotra, Gajraj Rao and Sheeba Chaddha in key roles.
The film is produced by Vineet Jain, Aleya Sen, Hemant Bhandari, and Priti Sahani under the banner of Junglee Pictures and Chrome Pictures and will release on 19th October.
