The troubles of actor Govinda and producer Pahlaj Nihalani seems to be getting over. Their forthcoming comic caper Rangeela Raja, finally been cleared by FCAT with a UA certificate.
Comic superstar Govinda just took to his Twitter profile and shared a poster of the film, with UA Certificate written on it.
Even trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the news. He tweeted, “#RangeelaRaja gets censor clearance, finally… UA certificate… Run time: 162 min 30 sec [2 hours, 42 minutes, 30 seconds]… Pahlaj Nihalani announces release date: 11 Jan 2019”
The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) cleared Rangeela Raja with a ‘U/A’ certificate and just three cuts. The film also stars Digangana Suryavanshi, Anupama Agnihotri, and directed by Sikander Bharti, the film is now scheduled to be released on 11 January 2019.
Pahlaj Nihalani and Govinda are reuniting almost 25 years after their last film. The actor Govinda is playing double role in the film. The film ran into trouble due to its double meaning dialogues and slightly over the top adult comedy.
The Prasoon Joshi-led Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had earlier recommended 20 cuts to the film after which Nihalani had moved the Bombay high court. After three cuts the legal hurdles cleared, Nihalani can look forward to a smooth release.
