Actor Kay Kay Menon, who is gearing up for his first web series titled ‘The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family’ has said that screenplay of his forthcoming web series is pretty intriguing that’s why he decided to be part of it.
Kay Kay Menon was interacting with media at the trailer launch of ‘The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family’ along with his co-actors Barun Sobti, Shreeswara, Swaroop Sampat, Eisha Chopra, and Sanya Pithawala on Wednesday in Mumbai.
When asked Menon which medium he finds difficult to act whether its cinema or a web series, he said, “I don’t see things as easy or tough. I see whether it’s interesting or uninteresting so, for me, there is nothing called tough. It’s for people who can’t do it so, as far as web series is concerned, it’s not that every web series will be good. It depends on what it provides you like a story and this one was pretty intriguing in terms of its screenplay so, that factor I always look for when I say yes to a project.”
When asked Menon his experience working in a web series for the first time, he said, “I am interested in stories which end up in a limited period.
I think web series is a medium comes in between cinema and television where you get a lot of time to play your character so when I heard this story that time I thought that I have to be part of this series because it has an interesting premise which I haven’t attempted before.”
Actress Tanushree Dutta has alleged that actor Nana Patekar misbehaved with her while they were shooting a film song in 2008.
Several Bollywood celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Farhan Akhtar, Hansal Mehta, Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan, and Sonam Kapoor has supported Tanushree to speaking her mind and it has sort of created #MeToo movement in Bollywood.
Reacting on that episode, Menon said, “I don’t know details of that incident but all I can say is that any kind of harassment needs to be looked into very seriously.”
When asked Menon whether the industry should disassociate that person on whom the accusation is made till the time he doesn’t get a clean chit from that matter, he said, “Any institution needs to be responsible and so does the film industry whatever comes under that bracket of responsibility need to be implemented.”
The web series revolves around General Vikramjeet Ranaut (Kay Kay Menon) who settles down for a quiet and happy life after an accident during border duty with his family in his ancestral home. When his estranged
ed brother (Barun Sobti) and sister-in-law (Eisha Chopra) return after 8 years, things spiral out of control.
‘The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family’ is directed by Ruchi Narain and it will be streaming on ALT Balaji app from 10th October.
