Jaya Bachchan says that her mother’s instinct told her Shweta would become an author someday.
Jaya Bachchan interacted with the media at the launch of daughter Shweta’s debut novel ‘Paradise Towers’ on Wednesday.
Jaya Bachchan shared her excitement for her daughter debut as an author, she said, “I knew she would do this. Since she was a child, I knew that she would someday write. It was mother’s instinct. I think she is very inspired by Karan’s (Johar) screenplay writing because the way he does detailing in the book is like his characters in the film. I was actually quite surprised and I keep saying is this character resembles that person we knew, but she always denies it.”
Shweta was accompanied by her parents Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan alongside Karan Johar who acted as the anchor. Jaya and Amitabh unveiled the book together on stage.
Praising Shweta’s growth and wishing her luck Bachchan said, “It’s a moment of great pride and honor and it makes parents very emotional when they launch their daughter’s book. As a father, I feel very privileged because she is my daughter and daughters have a special place in my heart. I wish her all the very best and just as Karan said a while ago, all I can say for the moment is that she really is the best actor in the family.
Sharing their memories together, Amitabh said, “Every time when we host some kind of an event, there is always a little family meeting at the end of the event at home. That time, she takes over and does a take-off of every one that was present at the event. I do look forward to this evening when she will do take-off of tonight’s event.”
‘Paradise Towers’ published by Harper Collins evolves around the lives of the apartment building residents. The book is now available online for sale.
