After a spooky and funny drama “Nanu Ki Jaanu” actor Abhay Deol is all set to bounce back on the big screen with a power-packed sports drama titled Jungle Cry based on Rugby.
The film is bankrolled by Bollywood Hollywood Production, which confirmed the kick-start of the film on social media. The official profile of the company shared the news with ceremonial pictures.
It wrote, “Lights. Camera. Puja! Bollywood Hollywood is proud to announce that our feature film ‘Jungle Cry’ is all set for filming. @abhaydeol stars in this inspiring film based on the legendary 10-Nations Championship win of the underdog India Under-14 Rugby Team, comprised of boys from Odisha’s tribal community. #JungleCry”
The sports drama is titled Jungle Cry. Actor Abhay plays the role of a real-life coach Rudraksha Jena, who is based in Bhubaneshwar. He had led an under-14 team to victory at the International School Rugby Tournament in London in 2007.
The actor has been busy learning the game while prepping for the movie. The team will shoot the inspirational human drama in Odisha. It is expected to go on floors within a month.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the film. He wrote, “Veteran Prashant Shah launches Bollywood Hollywood Production, a new media company… Acquires rights from Shabbir Boxwala for Rugby-based true story [he is attached as Associate Producer]…Titled #JungleCry, the film stars Abhay Deol… Directed by Sagar Ballary [#BhejaFry]”
Interestingly, Shabbir has already worked with the other Deol brothers — Sunny (Vishwatma, 1992) and Bobby (Gupt, 1997).
It is also learned that Shabbir Boxwala will soon kick-starts the biopic on Vikram Batra in collaboration with Dharma Productions.
