Karan’s classic 1998 release “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, which was also his directorial debut, featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in lead roles.
When one of the listeners asked him about his plans for the remake of “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and which actors he would choose for the movie, he said, “If I made ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2’, I would cast Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor in it.”
Karan launched Alia in Bollywood with his film “Student of the Year” in 2012 and Janhvi made her acting debut with a film, “Dhadak” which was backed by Karan. Ranbir on the other hand, has worked with the Karan in films like “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”. Alia and Ranbir will also be part of Karan’s production Brahmastra.
Karan’s next directorial after ‘Lust Stories’ 2018 and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ 2016 will be the period drama ‘Takht’ starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor among others.
The film is is primarily a story of two brothers Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh while Kareena will be seen as Ranveer sister, Alia Bhatt will play Ranveer’s love interest.
Takht is scheduled for a 2020 release.
