Joe Morton’s Cut Scenes In ‘Justice League’ Could Be Used In ‘Cyborg’ Film

Joe Morton Cyborg Justice League DC

Way back when, a Cyborg film was meant to be one of the films in the DC Extended Universe that would have been coming out in 2020. Since the time leading up to the release of Justice League and the restructuring of DC Films under Walter Hamada, a Cyborg film hasn’t exactly been a focal point of the conversation, but according to Silas Stone actor Joe Morton, Cyborg is indeed still in the cards.

While at the Television Critics Association panel, Joe Morton indicated that, as far as he’s aware, a Cyborg standalone film is still on the table for the DC film slate:

“I know there’s supposed to be a Cyborg movie they’re going to shoot in 2020. That’s all I know. I haven’t seen a script.”

Silas Stone had a brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was seen performing a test on Cyborg as Diana watched the metahuman files. Joe Morton had a bit more substantial role in Justice League, but the actor confirmed that a lot more material was shot that changed the story, but this could end up in the actual Cyborg film:

“There was [more we shot]. They completely changed the story. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie. Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film.”

It remains to be seen when a Cyborg film will hit the big screen or if either Cyborg or Silas Stone pop up in another DC film such as The Flash, as was to be the case when Rick Famuyiwa was to direct the Flash film, but time will tell. What would you hope to see in a solo Cyborg film? If there’s material cut from Justice League that was meant for Cyborg and Silas Stone’s characters, would you want to see it included in the Cyborg film? Let us know in the comments below.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Connie Nielsen, Joe Morton, Joe Manganiello, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds. The film is currently available on 4K, Blu-Ray, Digital HD and DVD.
