Shahid Kapoor who has always been vocal of how proud he is of his brother Ishaan said he is a great actor and will do well even without his support.
Shahid Kapoor interacted with media at the trailer launch of the forthcoming film, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ along side director Shree Narayan Singh, producer Bhushan Kumar and co actors Divyendu Sharma and Shraddha Kapoor.
Shahid’s younger brother Ishaan had a success party for the success of his film Dhadak, when asked why Shahid was missing from film promotions and the party he said, “Today in the morning I texted him after seeing photos of the success party. I wrote, ‘thanks for letting me know. Then he said, ‘No bro I was not sure if i want to call anybody’ (laughs). But having said that Ishaan is such a good actor that he does not need my support. He will do just fine without me.”
Talking about his co stars Divyendu Sharma who plays the friend, Shahid said, “I think he is the lead hero of the film because everything that happens is because of him.”
When asked about Yami’s missing presence he informed that the actress has been sick and “She plays a very important role in the film and we surely miss having her here with us.”
The film’s trailer showed the film is based in Uttarakhand and uses a very regional dialect different from Hindi when asked how they prepared for it Shahid said, “We are all very aware of the dialect and we did a lot of readings with each other. It was very difficult to get hold of it. The thing about this language you say everything in the opposite order. It took a lot of time for us to learn it but I think that is the best thing of the film. It makes the film fresh and relatable.”
Directed by filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ stars Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. Shahid will be seen a lawyer fighting for the right of his deceased friend and Shraddha will be seen has is love interest. Yami will be playing the role of opposition lawyer.
