Ishaan Khatter, 22-year-old actor who is making his Bollywood debut with ambitious film ‘Beyond the Clouds’ showed his philosophical side by saying it feels Beyond the Clouds to be working with Majidi Majidi in his Bollywood debut.
Ishaan Khatter was interacting with media on breezy Saturday night at seashore near Bandra-Worli sea link where he launched ‘Chote Motor Chala’ song from his film along with Malavika Mohanan and Majidi Majidi.
When asked Ishaan how does it feel to make Bollywood debut with a film which looks so real and working with acclaimed Iranian director like Majid Majidi, Ishaan said, “It feels Beyond the Clouds’”.
‘Chote Motor Chala’ songs looks fun and Ishaan has done some mind-blowing steps while performing this song in the film so when asked Ishaan how much fun he had while shooting for it, he said, “This song in our film is for very less time but we tried to come up with full version of this song to entertain the audience. We have made a special video of it which we have combined with film’s footage. As far as, dancing in this song is concerned, I was very eager to dance on this song but Majidi sir had to control my emotions while we were shooting for this song.”
When asked Ishaan why his team chose seashore to launch song of their film, he said, “We chose this location to launch this song because we have shot our film at this place. It is one of our favorite location in Mumbai. The kind of natural beauty Worli Koliwada has that you will not able to see anywhere else that’s why we decided to launch our song among our own people.”
When asked Malavika how does it feel to be part Majid Majidi’s film, she said, “It feels amazing and great. Sometimes, I still can’t believe that I have done a Majid Majidi film so it feels incredible”
‘Beyond the Clouds’ is Majid Majidi’s first Indian production so when asked Majidi why he chose India as a country to debut as a director apart from Iranian films and what was his search behind it, he said, “I have many memories with this location and I have shot one portion of this at this venue as well. I am grateful to people who have supported us throughout the shooting of this film. People of India are very loving and kind and I think culturally also, I connected with them really well because we also share similar kind of culture back in Iran.”
Majid Majidi first time collaborating with musical genius A. R. Rahman for ‘Beyond the Clouds’ so when asked Majidi what was his experience working with A. R. Rahman, he said, “I wish he was here to launch this song. He worked for his own people all his life. He put India on the world map through his brilliant music and more than that, I think as an individual, he is very kind and loving person. “
Majid Majidi also added that “child actor chotu and Asha are the real hero’s of our film and they performed brilliantly in the film”.
.Majidi’s first Indian production traces the relationship between 18-year-old Amir (Ishaan Khatter) and his elder sister Tara (Malavika Mohanan) and it is Produced by Namah Pictures and Zee Studios.
The first look was revealed on 10 February 2017 on Facebook by Rahman. Following its premiere at the 2017 BFI London Film Festival, ‘Beyond the Clouds’ is scheduled to release on 20 April 2018 in three languages.
