Actor Ranveer Singh attended launch of makeup & prosthetic academy ‘Makeup Designory’ on Wednesday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Ranveer said that ‘Padmaavat ’will always be a gem in his filmography.
Ranveer Singh has been receiving incredible reviews for his brutal portrayal of Alauddin Khalji in ‘Padmaavat’, and the film is doing phenomenal business after its release all across the country so sharing his views on gigantic success of ‘Padmaavat’, Ranveer said, “ I am enjoying it. I don’t get too carried away with success and neither do I get bogged down by the failure. What’s important for me is that, you deliver on your promise to the audience. I have pledged myself to try and be the best entertainer that I can possibly be and to see the kind of response, love, praise that people are showering on the performance, it’s extremely heartening for me and it’s filled me with more motivation to go out and work even harder and keep doing good work.”
“Of course, ‘Padmaavat’ will always be a gem on my filmography. It’s one of those rare successes where it gets the kind of critical success that it has as well as commercial success so yeah it’s been an avalanche of love coming in from everywhere and it’s been quite overwhelming but I haven’t really had time to celebrate as I have been shooting ‘Gully Boy’ everyday.”
Giving a quick update on Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’, Ranveer said, “It’s going extremely well. Things are just flowing along sparklingly and delightfully with Zoya (Akhtar) and Alia (Bhatt). I am really enjoying shooting process and honestly what more could I ask for that’s my greatest gift and pride that I am able to go a film set every day and do what I love doing”
Talking about his childhood close friend Rohan Shrestha who has been associated with ‘Makeup Designory’, Ranveer said, “I am here to support Rohan and Varun Shrestha. Rohan and I actually have grown up together and we know each other since we were in lower kg and we were in the same school and college and pretty much best friends all our life so I am extremely proud of everything that he has achieved. He father is a legendary photographer but Rohan is someone who made his mark at very young age and now recognized as most eminent and prominent photographer of the country. Most important for me, his growth as an artist has been amazing. When I was struggling actor and he was struggling photographer, We used to go to his father’s studio and take photos and he used to experiment with photography and I used to experiment with different looks so we have come a long way together. Now we do professional shoots for big brands together and it feels really surreal that he is such great photographer of his repute and he is shooting for a brand campaign, it’s quite an insane feeling”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh has created magic onscreen for the third time with their films like ‘Ramleela’ ‘Bajirao – Mastani’ and now with ‘Padmaavat’ so when asked Ranveer whether he will continue doing films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in future as well he said, “Yes why not?. For Mr. Bhansali, I am ready to do anything. I understand all too well that our collaboration is very special and lot of people recognize that and I recognize it too so I hope to do more films with him and I hope that I am able to create vast legacy of memorable films with such a special filmmaker”
When asked Ranveer about his Valentine’s day’s plans, Ranveer said, No.. I think I am shooting on that day.”
Ranveer has an extremely interesting lineup for the release which includes Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ and Kabir Khan’s ‘1983’.
