The Makers of Kuchh Bheege Alffaz hosted a special screening of their film on Tuesday in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities Saurabh Shukla, Vikas Gupta, Onir, Ramesh Taurani, Darshan Kumar, Samir Soni, Zain Khan Durrani and Swara Bhaskar attended a special screening of the film.
Here’s what Bollywood celebrities said about ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’
Saurabh Shukla – Onir always makes a different kind of films. I always like to watch his films as he works with newcomers and good actors so I am hoping to see a very interesting film.
Talking about his future projects, Shukla said, “I next will be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Daasadev’ and after that, I am working in Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘Raid’ along with Ajay Devgn. ‘Raid’ is based on true stories.
Ramesh Taurani- I have watched the trailer of ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’ which is really good so I am looking forward to watch this film and Onir always makes sensitive films so I feel this also will be a good film. ‘Kuchh Bheege Alffaaz’ is love story which happens through social media and today social media has become an integral part of our life so I feel this film is very contemporary in its setting”
Anupriya Goenka – I am very excited about the film. I am extremely fond of Onir sir’s work and I also love Geetanjali Thapa as I really admire her work. I think Onir sir is a very romantic person and he would deliver romance with a lot of depth and emotions so I really looking forward to watching the movie.
Samir Soni – I am very curious about what Onir is come up with now. He always comes up with very sensitive issues and sensibility is incredible so I am looking forward to seeing his latest film.
Zain Khan Durrani – I have seen the film couple of times now but I am just excited about the reviews I get from people.
Talking about his character of Radio Jockey in the film and his experience working with Onir, Zain said, “A lot of people really like my voice so I am really pleased about that and people are also my performance thinking that it’s real. It was amazing because Onir works solely based on emotions and realism which is really beautiful about him.”
Onir – I am really excited about the movie because its first time I am attempting a fully romantic film so I want the audience to enjoy it as much as I went through while making this film.
Talking about exploring various genres as a filmmaker, Onir said, “I think as a filmmaker you need to play with different genres otherwise, you don’t grow so for me, when I got the script, I was really excited about it because it was a genre that I haven’t done before. It was a script that made me smile all through and it had its moment of tears so it immediately hit a chord with me and maybe I was going through a phase where I was experiencing love.”
Swara Bhaskar – Onir is someone who I deeply respect as a director. I think he has consistently sort of give Bollywood a new identity so I always look forward to anything that he directs. ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’ looks like a very relevant and contemporary film. The cast of the film also looks nice and fresh so I am here to support this film.
The movie is a modern-day love story in the age of social media, as seen through two primary characters – RJ Alfaaz, played by debutant actor Zain Khan Durrani, and meme artist Archana, played by Geetanjali Thapa.
The cast also includes Shray Rai Tiwari, Mona Ambegaonkar, Chandrayee Ghosh, Sourav Das, Barun Chanda and Shaheb Bhattacharjee.
‘Kuchh Bhege Alffaz’ is directed by Onir and produced by Vikram Mehra and Siddharth Anand Kumar.
The film releases on 16th February – on the Valentine’s Day weekend.
