After the massive success of Padman, superstar Akshay Kumar has already kick-started his next project, Kesari and shares a candid picture on his social media page.
Superstar Akshay Kumar shared the picture on his Twitter account. He wrote, “Innocent smiles galore on set today. Shooting with these lovely children playing Afghani kids in #Kesari based on the Battle Of Saragarhi, one of the bravest battles fought in India”
The picture is nothing short of smile galore, Akshay Kumar in his Kesari avatar is surrounded by children dressed as Afghan kids. The actor is shooting for the film based on Battle of Saragarhi.
The Battle of Saragarhi took place in September 1897, when over 10,000 Afghan tribesmen of the Orakzai and Afridi tribe attacked Saragarhi, North Western Frontier Province (NWFP). The Sikh regiment, under the leadership of Havildar Ishar Singh, knew that they were outnumbered but they still held their ground and fought for several hours.
The movie is produced by Karan Johar’s helmed Dharam Productions and he also mentioned about his excitement about working with Akshay Kumar.
Karan Johar also tweeted, “Such an exciting journey this film has been…am so excited and proud to be associated with #kesari”
The film is directed by Anurag Singh, with Parineeti Chopra in the female lead. The movie also stars Mohit Raina, Pawan Malhotra and Rana Ranbir in key roles. The film will hit theatres on Holi 2019.
