The makers of Alt Balaji’s digital series, ‘The Test Case’ held a special screening on Wednesday. Nimrat Kaur along with Co-star Akshay Oberoi was present at the event, during interaction she said, digital medium gives creators a privilege to tell the story for hours, which isn’t possible for feature films.
Nimrat who has been appreciated for her work in feature films like Airlift’ and ‘The Lunch Box’ is now leading the ‘The Test Case’ a Web series on Alt Balaji. when asked if she thinks the story could have been better portrayed in a feature film, she said, “As an actor, it gives us the privilege to work in a medium where you are able to tell the story for about 5 hours, which isn’t possible for feature films.
For me at this point and time in my career, the fact that I could play a female-centric role, that shows from the beginning to the end of her journey was a rare privilege. And I wouldn’t have it any other way because I know we wouldn’t find these elements in a feature film.”she added.
Playing an army officer in special forces needs more than just physical training when asked how she prepared mentally for the character she said, “The biggest advantage for me while preparing mentally for it was that I am from an army background. for the first 12 years of my life, I have grown up in an army environment. It is a very natural habitat for me, when on set while wearing the uniform it never felt like I was in a costume. For me, this was a larger than life, experience.”
Starring Nimrat in the lead, the digital series is about the main character preparing to be the first woman test case in a combat role, within the Indian Army.
Directed by Vinay Waikul ‘The Test Case’ stars, Nimrat Kaur, Akshay Oberoi, Manit Joura, Atul Kulkarni, and Juhi Chawla in a cameo appearance.
