The digital medium is the future and that’s the right thing to do now: R. Madhavan

Makers of ‘Breathe’ hosted a special screening of their digital series on Tuesday in Mumbai. R. Madhavan while present at the screening said, the digital medium is the right thing to do, right now.

R. Madhavan known for his skills in South and Hindi films, entered the digital medium through Amazon’s 2nd original series’ Breathe’ when asked about working in digital platforms, Madhavan said, “It’s the right thing to do because that is the future and that’s how it’s going to be. It’s convenient to another level”

When asked Madhavan would he prefer the digital medium or films, he said, “I think doing films will be my first choice because it has more grandeur, film have larger than life mounting but you have to get those kinds of scripts but I think digital medium is going to be bigger than films as the digital media content reaches to audience home through their smartphones so they can watch it whenever they want to so it will have bigger audience, as a result, it will bigger impact”

Talking about ‘Breathe’s overwhelming response, Madhavan said, “I am feeling very nervous now as the kind of buzz I am observing about ‘Breathe’ on social media and Amazon has gone crazy as they put up hoardings of the series everywhere in Mumbai, Banglore, and Hyderabad so I think even my films also haven’t released on this scale.”

When asked about the challenges he faced while working in ‘Breathe’ Madhavan said, “In ‘Breathe’, my character has to make a moral choice of sticking to the law or doing what it takes to protect his son who is battling with life-threatening disease so portraying that struggle onscreen  was a challenge to me”

Bollywood celebrities Sapna Pabbi, Vicky Kaushal, Amit Sadh, R. Madhavan, Arshad Warsi, Arbaaz Khan, Sooraj Pancholi attended the special screening.

In ‘Breathe’, R. Madhavan plays a father is willing to go to any length to save his child from a possibly cruel end. Amit Sadh plays the role of a cop Kabir Sawant in the series, even after disturbed life, he performs his duty with complete honesty.

Written and directed by Mayank Sharma, Amazon original series Breathe also stars, Hrishikesh Joshi, Sapna Pabbi, Atharva Vishwakarma and Neena Kulkarni in lead roles.

First 3 episodes of ‘Breathe’ will be aired on 26th January and following 1 episode in every week.
