I am getting an award here in the category of music. I think staying relevant with changing times is really important. I sang for Salman (Khan) 20 years back for ‘Judwaa” and now I sang for Varun Dhawan. These films music, songs, and film itself have become a huge hit so they are honoring me for achieving the impossible and I like that so I am very honored to be here”
When Malik asked how does it feel to receive an award as he has been in the film industry for almost 33 years now, he said, “No matter how many times you get the award but it is always special. I think we work really hard and this very moment is the really special moment for me because the kind of work I am doing to stay relevant with this youngster who is doing fabulous work whether it is in ‘Judwaa 2’ or ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ so I think it’s a great feeling. I think it is very important to get a clap on my back for doing all the hard work “
