Actor Saif Ali Khan attended a promotional press conference for his upcoming film ‘Kaalakaandi’ on Monday in Mumbai. During press interaction, Saif said he thought about acting more seriously in the past year.
Saif completed 25 years in the industry when asked if he wonders whether he will survive for next 25 years, he said, “People used to say that actor’s career is over around the age of 40. As he won’t look young at that age, but now all that has changed. Actors of the old generations didn’t take fitness seriously but after all this fitness culture now, people are saying that ’60 is the new 40’”
Talking about his acting choices and future projects he said, “As far as my acting journey is concerned in these 25 years, it has been interesting, full of up and downs and learning constantly. I think from last year, I gave more thought to acting than before. My films in last year like ‘Rangoon’, ‘Chef’ and now ‘Kaalakandi’ are better performances than before.
My upcoming film ‘Bazaar’ is also very commercial film but I think its good work and it will be interesting. I am playing a slightly dangerous guy in it, so it will be fun” he added.
Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is making her Bollywood debut this year in Abhishek Kapoor’s film ‘Kedarnath’.
Asked if Saif gave her any advice as a father or as an actor, he said, “I have given her so many pieces of advice. I told her to be honest and to find what is special inside her and not to be like other people. She understands all of this. She always wanted to be an actor and I think she will be great. We worry about children. This profession has so much drama to it so I thought she will do some normal job because she is brilliant student but I guess nobody wants that”
Apart from Saif Ali Khan, ‘Kaalakaandi’ features Akshay Oberoi, Deepak Dobriyal, Amyra Dastur, Vijay Raaz, Shobhita Dhulipala and Shehnaaz Treasury.
‘Kaalakaandi’ has been directed and written by Akshat Verma, who is famous for his adult comedy movie Delhi Belly, and produced by Rohit Khattar and Ashi Dua.
The movie is scheduled to release 12 January 2018
