I don’t do films for awards, says Sonam Kapoor


Akshay Kumar and were present on the Set of Grand Finale of Zee Marathi’s Show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ for promotion of their upcoming film ‘Pad Man’. During media interaction, Sonam said, she does not do films to win awards.

After receiving National Award for film ‘Neerja’, Sonam was asked if she thinks ‘Pad Man’ would help her achieve another National Award she said, “I don’t do films for awards, I just want to do good work and be part of great films.”

Talking about Marathi cinema Sonam said she is glad the industry is being recognized for its worth, “Marathi films and songs have become very trendy right now. But people aren’t aware of the years of hard work and quality work that happened earlier. But I am so glad that it has become so popular now that even we have to come and promote our films on the Marathi platform.”

Sonam who has 3 releases scheduled this year, revealed she will also be shooting for another 3 films in 2018. When asked to share some details regarding the same, she said, “I am going to start shooting for a new film in Feb, March, and April for Vinod (Chopra) Uncle’s production. Then I will start preparing for ‘Zoya Factor’. Then there are 3 releases so this year I will be busy with films. So there is no time for other plans.”

After Virat and Anushka’s wedding, rumors related to Sonam’s wedding surfaced the internet. When asked to comment on the same, she said,” I don’t talk about my personal life, its been 10 yrs I never have and I don’t wish to.”
‘s projects releasing in 2018 are, ‘Pad Man’ co starring Akshay Kumar, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ directed by Shashanka Gosh and ‘Sanjay Dutt’s biopic’. The actress will also be shooting for Anuja Chauhan’s ‘The Zoya Factor’ and an untitled project with Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Directed by R. Balki, ‘Pad Man’ is scheduled to release worldwide on January 26th, 2018.
