I am not a method actor says Jimmy Shergill

Actor Jimmy Shergill and producer Anand L Rai interacted with media to promote their upcoming film ‘Mukkabaaz’ on Tuesday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Jimmy said that he is not a method actor to prepare for his characters while shooting of the film.

Jimmy Shergill plays antagonist in ‘Mukkabaaz’ so when asked Jimmy what kind of preparation he did to play his character in the film, Jimmy said “I don’t make specific preparation for my character. We first decide look of the character then I feel, I take 1-2 days to discover that character with director of the film. I don’t think I am method actor to play my character because I feel as we progress with that character we try to hold tone of that character and follow that throughout the film”

Talking about response for the trailer and songs of the film, Jimmy said, “I had really good experience working in this film. It feels nice when audience gives positive feedback to trailer and songs of the film. It’s very interesting love story as you all know Anurag Kashyap doesn’t make simple films so in this film’s story there is some quirkiness attached to it. This film is basically a love story but it has really good backdrop of politics behind sports so I hope audience will give nice response to it”

Talking about need to make films on sports and armed forces, Jimmy said, “In this film, Vineet Kumar Singh has put in lot effort to play his character. He became boxer for the film and fought boxing competition and seeing his effort people are getting inspired and I feel this another interesting aspect of this film but when audience is going to watch film and will get inspire by it is altogether different aspect because I feel we should make more film sports, sports politics and armed forces of our country because now, all kids want to become an actor by watching films so when you make more film on such subject then they will inclined towards sports or defense career as well and I don’t know where that time has gone as now all want to become actor”

There were reports that Anand L. Rai is going to make sequel of his successful film ‘Raanjhanaa’, declining that reports, Rai said, “If a certain story is appreciated by audience then is it necessary to make sequel of that film? I don’t think so..  It is not necessary that if a certain film worked then you have to make second part of it. We make films when we have story with us and I am extremely satisfied with the way ‘Raanjhanaa’ shaped up and audience feedback coming along with it and I feel that was the complete film and it completed its journey with its release and I am not thinking of making part 2 of it but I think media should ask Anurag Kashyap about ‘Mukkabaaz’s next part because I feel he has story for ‘Mukkabaaz part 2”

Mukkabbaz is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Phantom Films and Anand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions

It stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill in lead roles.

‘Mukkabaaz’ is releasing on 12th January, 2018.
