Rajiv Khandelwal who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web series, ‘Haq Se’ with ALT Balaji was present for a promotional interview on Friday. Ravij in light of the show’s social message during interaction said, ‘Haq Se’ isn’t preachy but a classic routine series.
Rajiv who is known to do content-driven projects irrespective of their platform was asked why he chose to debut with ‘Haq Se’ on the web series (digital) platform. He said, “’Haq Se’ has a story that we haven’t seen on our Indian television or web before. It’s not like the series is preachy or anything. It is a classic routine series but the story and the way it is told is different. The characters are very refreshing,  when I read the script I was just hoping the series turns out the way it is written. And thankfully it has turned out even better than expected.”
The trailer shows that the story carries a social message, when asked to comment on the same he said, “The story isn’t about the social subject the story is about the sisters. The social subject is relevant because it is a part of the story. It was written a long time ago and was based in Kashmir since the situation is part of the story, it is part of the show.”
When asked to shed some light on his character Rajiv said, “I wouldn’t like to reveal much, people who have seen the trailer will understand what kind of a character I am playing. He has a certain attitude which might make you love him or hate him. And you won’t know much about him until you find out about his backstory.”
Rajeev Khandelwal and Surveen Chawla started their television careers with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kahiin to Hoga’. When asked how it is to come back after all these years and work together, he said, “Surveen has become more beautiful and more talented in these 10 years. She used to talk a lot back then and still does (laughs). I think she has become only better with time. It was very easy working with her. We never had ego clashes. We are similar people and like her as a person, on screen or off screen.”
‘Haq Se ’ is produced by Viraj Kapoor and Karan Raj Kohli for Ekta Kapoor’s video on demand platform ALTBalaji. The series stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Surveen Chawla as protagonists.
The series will be available for streaming on the ALT Balaji App and its associated websites since its release in Feb.
