Anurag Basu was present at an event organized by the ‘Mount Litera School’ for kids fighting Cancer from the ‘Tata Memorial Centre’. During media interaction on Thursday Basu said, he is working on few projects and will soon announce the schedule.
When asked about his future projects the Barfi! Director said, “We are currently working on a few projects simultaneously but I will announce the schedule very soon as to when which project will come out.”
Talking about films when asked what he thinks about the trend of making biopics, he said, “It’s a good thing that people are getting inspired by biographies. Nowadays people don’t read so all they grasp about life is from films.”
Commenting on the current ‘Padmavati’ feud the director said he thinks it is very bizarre, “when I first heard about it, the first things that came to my mind was ‘has one read the script?’. The entire controversy is based on the perception and assumption that something might be wrong with the film. Without watching it how can someone comment on it, this is very bizarre. Still, I think it will be a win-win situation for everyone.”
“Sanjay sir shouldn’t feel bad that the film was postponed, he will have no problem releasing the film. Like me, he has many other fans and I we will watch the film no matter when it releases.” said Basu.
Anurag Basu’s last film as director and writer was ‘Jagga Jasoos’ in 2017. The film starring Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor didn’t perform well on box office or in the critic’s eye.
