Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passed away today, he was into the illness since long. His death report was confirmed by Randhir Kapoor. Randhir told PTI, “Yes, he has passed away. He had kidney problem for several years,”
He was also given ‘Padma Bhushan’ award by the government of India in 2011 and ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’ in 2015.
If we talk about his filmy career, Shashi started his career in Bollywood in his childhood. He used to act in plays directed and produced by his father Prithviraj Kapoor and started his Bollywood career from Sangram (1950) and Dana Paani (1953).
Shashi Kapoor was really a versatile as not only acting he also contributed Bollywood as Producer, Assistant Director, and Director. Junoon (1978), Kalyug (1980), 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981), Vijeta (1982), Utsav (1982), Ajooba (1991) are produced by Shashi Kapoor. He also worked as assistant director for 6 movies and also directed one Bollywood movie ‘Ajooba’ and one Russian movie ‘Vozvrashcheniye Bagdadskogo Vora’.
His entire Journey (18 March 1938 – 4 December 2017) was truly remarkable and he will always be missed by everyone for the magic he created in Bollywood.
