Arjun Kapoor who was earlier a brand ambassador for the FC club now is a co-owner of the proud Pune City team. During media interaction on Thursday Kapoor expressed it was time for him to expand his horizon and invest his time in something he loves which is Football.

Kapoor was asked how did he ended up becoming a co-owner of the team, he said “They have given me the respect and allowed me to be part of the team as an owner where I can actively take part in decision making. And that is not something I will take lightly. I am also in a position in my life after 5-6 years of working in the industry that I can expand my horizons. And I would like to pursue my passions in various ways and this happened at the perfect time.”

He further added, “I have been associated with ISL (Indian Super League) Pune City since the first year. And I have been a football fan for many years. I have followed football around the world whether it is European or South American. I was very excited when the League came to India and has started something at this level. It does not always mean that you have to jump right in. I believe in waiting for the right opportunity.”

Hrithik Roshan was announced to the co-owner of FC Pune City in 2014. When asked about his past and current association with FC Pune City, CEO Gaurav Modwel said “Hrithik is still a shareholder but Arjun is now our new face and he is really passionate about Football. We have been talking about it for a long time and now it has finally happened.”

The new season of the Indian Super League will start on November 17, with last season’s finalists Atletico de Kolkata and Kerala Blasters facing off in the first game.

Arjun was last seen in Mubarakan portraying a double role co-starring, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty. And has films like ‘Sandeep aur Pinky Farrar’ and ‘Namastey Canada’ in the pipeline.
