Actor Rajkummar Rao attended Miss Diva Grand Finale as a judge on Wednesday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Rajkummar stated that he never thinks about how his movies are going to perform at the box-office.
Nowadays content driven cinema is getting appreciated by audience and Rajkummar Rao’s films are prime example of that so when asked Rao about how it feels when his film like ‘Newton’ which gets critical acclaim and at the same time receives good response from audience at theatres, he said, “The kind of money ‘Newton’ has made, it’s amazing. It’s very welcome change in our industry and the kind of films people are accepting. Content has finally got its due respect and I am very happy about this fact. For me, content has been always the king since my first film. I never really thought about how my films are going to perform at the box-office because that is something beyond our control and we can’t really predict that”
Talking about response for his upcoming film ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ trailer, Rao said, “I am very happy. I hope people like and appreciate the film. The kind of response, we are getting on social networking site is quite overwhelming. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best”
Talking about promotional activities of his upcoming films and preparation for his recently nominated film ‘Newton’ for Oscars, Rao said, “It has become hectic nothing has changed apart from that. I am still a same person. My first love has always been acting and that’s the thing that I enjoyed the most when I am in front of camera but now I have to do other things apart from acting”
Talking about Miss Diva Contest, Rao said, “Organizers of the show asked me to judge this beauty pageant so I am really very happy to be here and I am looking for this event”
He added, “Beauty is not only external beauty for me, internal beauty is also equally important. Somebody who is compassionate and who thinks for society as well, so for me, beauty along with brains which matters”
Rajkummar next will be seen in ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ with Kriti Kharbanda. It directed by Ratna Sinha. It will release on 10th November.
He will also be seen in Hansal Mehta’s Omerta, which was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and last but not the least, ALTBalaji’s web series – Bose that marks his debut into the digital space.
