Riteish Deshmukh was present at the launch of his upcoming production ‘Faster Fene’ on Friday. During media interaction he said, he always wanted to do a character-oriented film.

Ritesh while talking about ‘Faster Fene’ and its development said, ‘I always wanted the chance to do such a character-oriented film. Since I never got the chance as an actor, I thought why not fulfill that wish as a producer.”

Riteish who turned producer 4 films ago has now turned a singer and rapper for ‘Faster Fene’; he said the song launched on Friday is a special song for Riteish since it will also include a rap. “This is hardly anything, it’s just an attempt. I wasn’t too sure if I will be able to do it and were prepared to have some else sing it. Shreyas Puranik, who is a great singer himself forced me to sing, and if this wouldn’t have happened he would have sung the song.”

Riteish was asked if he will attempt singing in Bollywood films too, he said:“ one step at a time, let me finish this producer’s responsibility.”

When asked if there is a specific reason why actors are trying to promote Marathi films like even Priyanka Chopra also produced ‘Ventilator’ and even Ritiesh has been producing films, he said, “I think the perspective that we are trying to promote Marathi films is wrong. It is always about the content and entertaining the audiences. Big Productions houses like Fox and Warner Brothers came to Indian film industry because they saw potential. Just like that recently the Marathi films have been showing a good success pattern and if other productions houses want to grow with the industry then it’s fantastic. “

“Priyanka who is a dear friend made an amazing film like ‘Ventilator’, I think it is always about backing up great content. And in future, I believe our regional cinema will be more appreciated.”

Riteish ‘s upcoming projects include, ‘Total Dhamaal’ directed by Indra Kumar costarring the 2007’s ‘Dhamaal’ team. He will also appear in a film on Chhatrapati Shivaji’s life.
