Rishi Kapoor – Studio Can Be Rebuilt, Not the Memorabilia

Rishi Kapoor expressed his sadness over the fire breaking out in RK Studios.
The RK Studio was founded and setup by legendary actor, filmmaker Raj Kapoor in 1948. Recently a major fire broke out on the sets of dance reality show Super Dancer Season 2 at the iconic RK Studio in Mumbai’s Chembur.
The fire was so massive that is required at least 11 fire engines and five water tankers to douse the fire that gutted one of the main shooting venues of the studio.
Rishi Kapoor took to his Twitter account and confirmed everyone’s well-being but also his sadness over losing some of the most cherished memorabilia.
He wrote, “Sad A major fire broke out at RK StudiosWe have lost the iconic Stage 1 Thankfully no casualties nor injuries. All your concerns appreciated”
Rishi Kapoor also tweeted, “A Studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all RK Films, is tragic for all. Fire took it away”
Unlike other Bollywood studios of the time period, R.K. Films was able to preserve all the costumes used in its films but recent fire took it all away.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Luckily, no one has got injured as the set was locked and no one was shooting. The fire was confined on the ground floor of the studio building in the electrical wing and thick dark smoke enveloped the entire area. Later the whole set turned ablaze.
Some of the most iconic movies were made under the banner of RK Studios, such as Aag, Barsaat, Awaara, Shri 420, Bobby, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Ram Teri Ganga Maili are some of the other films made under the banner.
