Kalki Koechlin, noted for her serious and content-driven performances, is seen in a rather wild and bohemian avatar in Jia Aur Jia, says the movie is about two contrasting characters.
“My character is exaggeratingly mad and over the top, but the idea is that she also represents that bohemian side of life, where you live for today and don’t worry about tomorrow. My character is in contrast to other Jia, who is so controlling and has a lot of stress in her life. She is always thinking about schedules, timings, businesses, and stuff, so it is actually the contrast between the two. I think you need a mix of both, in order to live a good life” said Kalki during her media interaction at the trailer launch.
Howard Rosemeyer directorial Jia Aur Jia is a story about two starkly different women (Richa Chadha and Kalki Koechlin) that share the same name. Together, they embark on a life-changing journey heading towards the same fate.
A travelogue of two daughters of destiny, who traveling the span of a foreign country, thousands of miles away from home, discovered that life no matter how short can still be one big deal!
Talking about the movie, Filmmaker Howard Rosemeyer expressed that movie is about living life, which includes everything.
“I would say that movie is about living life. This film teaches us to extract happiness, courage, and lot of other things from the deep dark depths of life, the movie is all about that. And it is also about friendship and living in the moment” says Howard.
“Jia Aur Jia” is the first bullseye attempt at telling the audience what it is that brings girls to come of age to be women. While it is an absolute fun film written in the commercial mould, it is a film that asks pertinent questions, while fighting the high stakes of a magical journey called life.
The movie stars Richa Chadha, Kalki Koechlin and Arslan Gori in lead roles. It is been directed by Howard Rosemeyer and written by Mudassar Aziz.
Presenting and Distributed by Bluefox Motion Pictures, the movie releases on 27th October 2017.
