If Army Puts Down Their Weapons, There Will Be No India – Akshay Kumar

Akshar Kumar along with Amit Lodha, IPS officer with Jaisalmer BSF Division attended Bharat Ke Veer donation initiative on Monday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Akshay narrated a short verse that he wrote and urged everyone to support Indian armed forces.

“When a terrorist puts down the weapon, there will be no violence, but remember, when an army guy puts down the weapon there will be no India. So guys we have to support them. They have to be part of us, I would just request everyone with folded hands, do whatever you can to support them” said Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar has been an avid promoter of physical fitness, self defence and kid’s initiative. The actors also admitted that times are changing rapidly and school programs like Scouts, Guide and NCC are disappearing.

“NCC and Scout, I use to be a Scout, but all those days have gone; very slowly it is all disappearing. Now the NCC has been replaced with Iphones, IPods and what not, we are playing with those games. No more saluting each other, the way scouts use to salute. I hope those days comes back, outdoor sports comes back”

“I urge everyone, please take your kids outdoors as much as possible, and make them run, give them a ball to play with, don’t present them with a phone and all. Let the kids play outside because it is important for them to do that” added Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar single-handedly broke the box-office jinx with his last release, Toilet Ek Prem Katha. The movie not only made money but started a social revolution in terms of curbing “Open defecation”. Now the actor is all geared up to break more myths and taboos with another social stigma, sanitary pads in his upcoming Padman.

“Padman is film about sanitary pads. There are still 91% of Indian females who don’t use sanitary pads only because they could not afford it. This film talks about a taboo when woman go through her periods. I urge everyone to support this film as well to spread awareness about this important initiative. It is important that this 91% comes as low as possible” added Akshay.

The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Amitabh Bachchan and Sudhir Pandey in pivotal roles. The movie hits cinema halls on 13th April 2018.
